Welcome to our Extension of Turkey Work Permit page.
Work permit is the category applied by foreign nationals who want to officially earn income in Turkey. For this, the place where the person applies for the foreign worker criteria must also comply with the conditions for employing foreign workers. If a foreign employee is to be recruited through the company, then the company is expected to meet the paid capital of 100,000 TL and 1 foreign employee for every 5 Turkish employees in proportion. If the person to be recruited does not have a specific expertise, he / she should definitely present a diploma. If he / she will work in household services, then this requirement is not required.
Work permit is evaluated in two different categories. Temporary work permit and indefinite work permit. Indefinite work permit is given to people who have been residing in Turkey continuously for 8 years or who have had a permanent work permit for 5 years. Temporary work permits vary depending on the contract duration of the persons. Temporary work permits vary with the effect of the duration of the contract between the two parties. The work permit also entitles the person to a residence permit within the same period of time. In fact, thanks to this permit, the person can provide his/her spouse and children under 18 to live with him/her by obtaining a family residence permit. When the work permit expires, the residence permit automatically ends.
There is no need to extend this permit for permanent work permit holders. This situation is different for those who have a temporary leave and they must apply for an extension of their work permit at each end of the leave. Extension applications can be made 60 days before the expiry of the valid work permit. Before the application is completed, it is necessary to extend the period with an extension application. Otherwise, if an application is requested after the valid permit is expired, the situation becomes very difficult. First of all, since the work permit grants the right of residence along with the right to stay, the legal right of the person to stay has expired and he/she must return to his/her country.
Conditions for Extension of Turkey Work Permit
The first rule for a new work permit application is that the person has a valid residence permit. For this reason, a work permit application can be made again after the residence permit application is made and approved. This means an average of 180 days. A second alternative is that the person will return to their country and can come to Turkey to work again when the application is made without a residence permit and approved. This means an average of 90 days of waste of time. In order to avoid such problems, work permit durations should be followed and made at the right time without delay.
Applications for extension of work permit are made through the online system of the Ministry of Labor with electronic signature as in the first application. Since a valid employer record is created in the first application, a new record will not be created this time, the same record will be proceeded. By logging in with the same information, the extension process will be selected and proceeded; documents will be scanned and uploaded to the system.
